Sem + Shiann - Surprise Proposal - Horseshoe Beach Water Front Proposal

Internet, I give you two of the best souls you’ll ever meet and our sweetest friends! 

Sem + Shiann.

My husband and Sem actually go allllll the wayyyyy back to kindergarten. They have more laughs, crazy stories and near death experiences than I can even count...speaking of near death experiences, our first double date with these two was last summer on Sem’s new boat andddddd we actually ended up sinking it- YUP. If we hadn’t been in shallow water, it would be residing on the ocean floor!

I mean, gotta break Shiann in right, right?!  If that doesn't make or break friendship, I don’t know what will!! 

We all laugh about it now, but it was definitely an unforgettable double date adventure. In all seriousness, these two mean SO much to us, and we already have the best memories together, so you can see why I was over the moon when Sem called me to set up Shiann’s surprise proposal.

Before I begin the mushy story, MEN! LISTEN UP:

If your girl drops any hints of wanting her future proposal documented, FREAKING DO IT. It gives you forever brownie points, allows you both to have priceless memories, and lets your photographer help you plan it!;) In my case, Sem had everything planned out! He knew he wanted to propose in her favorite place: Horseshoe Beach. The handsome little peach tried to arrange for an airplane to fly a banner across the sky, but he couldn’t find one that traveled that far! (melt me!) So, he had a banner made for a boat and got everything lined up with her family to help out, and some to even be there to witness it all.

OH! And you have to know that his and Shiann’s thing is ‘pretty please’, so it was only fitting that Sem’s proposal banner ready “ Will you marry me, pretty please??”

 COME ON PEOPLE! Is that not the freaking sweetest?!? GAH! 

We played it off that we wanted to double date for Valentines day, and I was bringing my camera to get some sunset photos for social media (hook, line and sinker!) Shiann fell so hard for it and was even helping me spot and capture pelicans and palm trees! It was the funniest & cutest thing ever- Little did she know all this was for her!

I knew it was time when Sem asked Shiann to look at that boat coming up in the distance, she looked and immediately burst into tears and Sem got down on one knee. There was a long pause and I remember hearing Sem say, “sooo is that a yes or a no?” 

She was so shocked she forgot to answer!! It obviously was a YES, and she cried, he cried, we all cried! It was the sweetest thing to witness and I am forever grateful to be a part of such a special day. We popped champagne, watched the sun go down, and snagged their first set of engagement photos at dusk. 

IT. WAS. BEYOND. PERFECT.

 Congratulations you two! I can’t wait to plan all the wedding festivities and watch you become MRS. CAPARELLI!!
